Leadership needed to scale game review output fast to hit growth targets. Instead of turning reviews into a full-time, repetitive role (burnout waiting to happen), I built an AI-assisted workflow for the low-leverage setup work and paired it with a rotation model across the team. Outcome: reviews scaled from ~20/week to 60+/week in 8 weeks, while keeping editorial checks human.
02 — Process
Audited the review pipeline to spot the repetitive steps slowing writers down
Set up an AI-assisted pre-writing workflow (data compilation, structure setup, formatting)
Defined hard quality guardrails: gameplay notes, judgment, voice, and final edit stayed human
Documented everything as SOPs: templates, checklists, and prompt guidance so the team could use it consistently
Pitched and implemented a rotation model so reviews stayed a shared stream, not a single-role treadmill
Tracked weekly output and friction points, then iterated fast based on what actually broke in production
Proof: Before/after AI-assisted workflow
Before new workflow (11 July): 21 games
After new workflow (5 September): 56 games

03 — Results
We managed to increase game review output by 250% within 8 weeks. The workflow removed the repetitive setup while the rotation model ensured ownership was shared. The result was faster publishing, clearer accountability and a sustainable pipeline for the team.
